As part of the scheme that was introduced earlier in the year, Family Matters has successfully applied for 50 mediation funding vouchers from the government.
Sarah Hardcastle, scheme manager, said
“We are delighted with the uptake from people who want to access the £500 funding for their mediation case about children.”
As one of the mediators who has “used the scheme the most”, Juliette Dalrymple, director at Family Matters, has been asked by the Family Mediation Council, which is working with the Ministry of Justice on the scheme, for her views and feedback. Juliette said:
“We have been proactive in setting up the systems necessary to ensure that parents can access the additional funding offered by the government. This means we have been able to apply for more vouchers than we had planned.
We would be delighted if the scheme were to be extended and hope our feedback to the Family Mediation Council will be useful. However, as, at present, the voucher scheme is expected to finish at the end of August, we’d encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you would like to take advantage of a voucher for up to £500 toward the cost of mediation to help resolve any children issues.”
