The family mediation voucher scheme is designed to help parents who want to come to mediation to reach agreement about arrangements for children.
The scheme was set up by the government in response to Covid-19 to encourage parents to choose mediation as a way of resolving their disputes.
A financial contribution of up to £500 per case will be paid towards the costs of mediation.
At Family Matters all our mediators are accredited by the Family Mediation Council (FMC) so we can offer voucher funding towards the cost of mediation about arrangements for children, alternatively if you want to come to mediation about financial arrangements AND children arrangements we can use the voucher funding for the part of the mediation where you talk about your children.
What do I need to know?
The voucher funding does not cover your initial individual meeting or MIAM. You may be eligible for legal aid you can check your eligibility here.
It is a grant not a loan, you will not be expected to pay the money back.
The funding is up to £500.00 per case it is not per person.
At Family Matters we will update you regularly about the proportion of voucher funding which has been used and what is remaining, so you can make your own decisions about the next steps.
You can find out more about the scheme by arranging your individual meeting here.
