We are delighted to announce that Jane Knight has achieved FMC (Family Mediation Council) accredited family mediator status. This is the fully qualified status for family mediators in England and Wales.
Jane has worked with Family Matters since 2013 and offers mediation in the West Yorkshire area. She has undertaken the training and supervision necessary to become accredited with Family Matters Training – the training arm of the firm – which has an excellent record for providing relevant experience and supervision for trainee mediators. Jane is the second of Family Matters’ own mediators to have completed their training with the firm this year.
Jane has worked in the family court setting since 1989 and has a wealth of experience of working with children and families and making recommendations to the Family Court. She has also been involved as a project worker on the ‘Listening to Children Matters’ (L2C) project for several months before completing the successful portfolio that is necessary to become an accredited mediator. L2C was an innovative government funded project, run by Family Matters, that used mediation methods to listen to children’s wishes and feed them back to families to help them make sensible decisions about their future.
Family Matters’ managing director, Juliette Dalrymple says “This is a great achievement for Jane, and we are proud to have been part of her successful accreditation. She is an asset to our firm. She will shortly be offering mediation services for Family Matters in Wakefield and Hebden Bridge.”
