The second Judy Wakefield Memorial lecture took place on 20th March 2014 and was attended by professionals from the court service Cafcass and local solicitors.
Alison and Tracy from the Listening 2 Children Matters project, a DWP innovation project provided and insight into the project and its rollout over Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. The project provides an opportunity for parents to hear the views of their children through the work of a trained and experienced Child Consultant.
During the second part of the evening, District Judge Jonathon Whybrow gave an interesting and informative lecture regarding the pending changes in the Family Justice System and the implications for families their legal advisors and other court professionals.
Over £200 was raised at the event and directors Juliette and Stan said “Thank you to Family Matters staff and Judge Whybrow for giving their time freely and to all who attended and donated generously. Watch this space for next years lecture”.
