The current cost of living crisis affects parents and families. Support is out there, and not enough people know about it.
Martin Lewis recently highlighted where you can find out about some of the help you can get, and we are happy to pass that on to you now:
- Water https://www.ccwater.org.uk/households/help-with-my-bills/
- Energy https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/information-consumers/energy-advice-households/getting-help-if-you-cant-afford-your-energy-bills
- Telephone and social tariff for people on a low-income https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/costs-and-billing/social-tariffs
There is also a government-supported savings scheme for people on benefits or universal credits. They can put away £1 to £50 per month, paying in as many times as they like during the month up to the maximum of £50 in that month. At the end of the second year and the fourth year, savers will get a bonus.
A couple can have two accounts.
