The Telegraph has reported that couples are being forced to stay together as they cannot afford to divorce as house prices, legal costs and mortgage rates increase.
The report states that mortgage brokers and lawyers are finding that more couples are having to stay together rather than divorce as the average divorce now costs £14,500.
Unfortunately, the report does not touch the subject of mediation, which offers a much cheaper way of divorcing.
The average cost of using mediation to sort out property and finances is much less than the traditional court route. At Family Matters, our cost for two MIAMS, mediation and documents fees is less than £3,000.
Find out more about mediation on our website now or contact our experts to find out how we can help you to separate or divorce in a more constructive manner, with less stress and conflict – and at a cost you can afford.
