SUMMARY:Foundation Training Family Mediation - Module 2
DESCRIPTION:The Family Mediation Training Programme\, run in collaboration by Family Matters Mediation\, and Lesley Allport Dispute Resolution (LADR) is fully approved by the College of Mediators and the Family Mediation Council. Dr Lesley Allport is a leading family mediator and trainer\, Juliette Dalrymple is an experienced mediator and trainer and is an assessor for the Family Mediation Council for FMCA accreditation. \nThe first two modules cover the process and principles of mediation. Modules two and three look at the impact of separation and divorce on children and families; the voice of children in family mediation; exploring the suitability of mediation (MIAMs meetings) including risk assessment and the understanding of safeguarding and eligibility for public funding; the financial disclosure process and the legal framework for separating and divorcing couples. \nThe training incorporates a number of approaches including trainer input\, skills development\, group exercises\, plenary discussion and written assignments. Participants are assessed on the knowledge and skills they develop during the programme and through assessment of written work. The course consists of the following key components: \n\n11 taught days\nAssessed skills demonstration\nSelf-study component (18hrs) including submission of written assignments\nTrainee Manual including a Legal Knowledge Unit\n\nThe training takes place at a central location in the North of England. Doncaster is easily accessible by rail and road. St Catherines house is beautiful Grade 2 listed House which offers an unparalleled environment for learning St Catherine’s House Woodfield Park\, Tickhill Rd\, Doncaster DN4 8QP. Full joining instructions will be provided. \nThe cost of the programme is £2275 inclusive of VAT. The early bird rate of £2245 inclusive of VAT applies to the end of January 2017.
