DESCRIPTION:Book Your Place Here \nThe FMC’s new requirements for all registered mediators regarding child-inclusive mediation (CIM) which came into force on 1 September 2018. \nThe FMC Code of Practice states that “All children and young people aged 10 and above should be offered the opportunity to have their voices heard directly during the Mediation\, if they wish.” \nThe FMC Code now requires all mediators\, whether or not they offer direct meetings with children\, to explain to parents and carers that children and young people aged 10 and above have the right to be offered this opportunity. \nMediators are required to attend a CiM Awareness Day to understand the benefits reported by children and parents\, different ways of arranging meetings and encouraging parents to consider CiM for their children. \nThis Awareness Day is for:\n\nNewly trained mediators working towards accreditation\nAccredited mediators who do not intend to take CIM training but who need to be informed\nabout opportunities available to children and young people\nAccredited mediators intending to take CIM training\n\n  \nProgramme\n1: A Review of the New FMC Standards\n \n\nrequirements for training and practice in child-inclusive mediation\nincluding ppc and cpd requirements.\n\n\n \n2: CiM Models and Approaches \n\nWhat is the purpose of meeting with children in mediation?\nDifferent approaches\, different models and how the process works.\n\n \n\n3: Implications for Practice \n\n\n\nIntroducing CiM\nPreparing parents\nWorking with parents after a meeting with a child.\n\n\n\n \nThe day will include opportunities for discussion\, small group work and role play.\n \nThe event will take place at The Point\, Doncaster on  16th January 2020\, 9.30am – 4.30pm.\n \n£264 inc VAT \nBook Your Place Here\n   \nTrainers\nDr Lesley Allport and Lisa Parkinson are experienced trainers in child-inclusive mediation and family mediation generally both nationally and internationally. Lesley is a registered independent training provider (LADR) with the College of Mediators (COM) and fulfils current FMC requirements for CIM training recognised by an MO. As current Chair of the College’s Practice Standards Committee\, Lesley continued to develop these standards in the light of recent policy and recommendations.\nLisa has developed policy\, practice and training in child-inclusive mediation over the last 35 years and has provided training in this field for COM\, FMA\, NFM and Resolution members and for qualified family mediators in other countries. She was convenor of the FMC working group on CiM on whose recommendations the new FMA Standards are based.  \nBook Your Place Here \n
